Abel's Island: Forum Query #6

Gower did not send rescuers to Abel. In your opinion, why didn't he do this? Give evidence from the story to support your ideas.

  1. In the story it said Gower forgets everything. So that tell you that thats why he didn't send help. Abel counted on Gower. Gower let Abel down. Matter of Fact If it was not for that Abel would have never made it home. After a few days or whatever Abel decidecd to swim. There you have it THANKS ALOT GOWER!!!!!!

  2. he didnt because he was to worried aboout his family. I think that Abel would do the exact same thing. Gower could have forgot he was so happy to be back where he belonged.

  3. Welllllllllllll.......I would say he forgot to (or stole Abels nail board and went to Hawaii). It is actually kind of obvious that he did, because everybody, and I mean everybody does just that. Even I do (OK. I do it all the time! but who really wants to know that.)! He also did not know what she looked like. Only in clay! That is what I think of it. :)

  4. I think he forgot to send rescuers to save abel. He said himself that him and his(insane) wife always fight and try to remember what they were fighting about. He was(really)old so(really)old people forget stuff.( I remember like a 80 year old too.)So he is exused this time. And all the people that are blogging are doing really well!

  5. I think Gower didn't send rescuers because when they first met they told their names. After about five minutes Gower forgot who Abel wasabd didn't know where he was.I also think Gower fell asleep in the river and is still asleep.Gower also asked Abel who he was another time.Gower still might be looking for help in his town.

  6. I think Gower didn't send help because he's too lazy to do anything. It's the truth. He goes around doing nothing productive. he sleeps anywhere!

  8. Well I guess he forgot because when Gower first came to the island Able asked if he wanted to come in his "House" and he forgot and on the first page of chapter 15 the last sentence said "He's always forgetting things." So he probably was so exited that he was home he forgot about Abel

  9. I think because Abel took one of his feathers and I guess he thought well you have no nerve to take a feather that was clearly mine in the first place and you shouldn't call me names because other owls that you've met may not have been sensitive I am and that hurt when you did what you did.
