Welcome! This is where students @ Wrightsboro Elementary can communicate their points of view about reading with other students in our school. Periodically, Mrs. Whitmore will post new questions about book recommendations to which you may respond. Remember to make your responses clear and informative. Be sure to use blogging etiquette in your responses. You may respond as an individual, a group of friends, with a family member, or as a class. See this month's prompt below.
I think the raft was the best one actually! Almost everyone who's on an island builds a raft but it's the best transportation really. I would build a raft if I had to!
ReplyDeleteI think that the sailboat was the best. I chose the sailboat because when your on an island it usally has some wind. Which means that the wind will push on the sail and then it makes the boat move in the direction that the wind is moving in.
ReplyDeleteI think the weaving a rope would work because it could catch on something on the other side.If it did catch on something you could tie it on to something on your side and climb across. If it didn't work you could keep trying because it's a rope.
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe the wading could possibly work if he was heavy enough he could get across. But he might drown. I personally think his best idea was to build a stronger boat, which he eventually did. It was probably was the best idea. If not, I am not sure.
ReplyDeleteI think the glider was the best idea. He was smart to think of it. I think it's the best because he can just fly over everything instead of building a boat and getting soaked. If he built a tunnel it could easily collapse and he would get stuck and drown. So if I was him I would stick with the glider.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best one is using the boat because as long as he has strong wood he can do what he needs to do to get back to his wife because he misses her alot and the only way to get back to her is to sail on the boat and I'm pretty sure she misses him to so he needs to try his best to get back if he misses or loves her sooo much
ReplyDeleteI think that Abel’s best idea was throwing a rope with a rock attached to it across the river. I think that was the best idea because it was safe, easy to make and it was quick. If Abel only had a little more strength it would had worked.
ReplyDeleteI think the boat he made was pretty cool.I thought it was a pretty cool because he made it out of a scarf and some other things he found.I would have done that to.I tought Able was pretty smart for thinking of it.
ReplyDeleteI think making a rope from some thick crab grass and tying it around a rock to try and lug it across the river and pull his way across the humongous river that keeps him away from his caring wife Amanda.
ReplyDeleteI think the sail boat was the best idea because I think it would be nice to sit in a boat.I also think he could get some rest in it if the river was calm.If I was in a sail boat I would make sure the walls are closed and the sail isn't torn.
ReplyDeleteI think the letter was the best. It could be seen and someone like you or me would be curious to find out what it said. You would have had to be kind and forward it to Amanda.
ReplyDeleteI think that throwing the rope across the river was the best. As long as he would of had enough strength he would make it. As long as he keeps trying that, it might work. He'll get stronger every day until he eventually makes it across the river. Oh, and as long as he has strong hands to hang on to the rope with, because if he didn't he would fall, if not drown! By the way Rochelle, I think the lovey dovey stuff is halarious!!
ReplyDeleteI think that weaving a rope is a pretty good idea. If I was on an island than I would probably make a rope, or just something like a bridge because they are pretty easy to make, and pretty hard to fail at.
ReplyDeleteI think Abels best idea was when he built his first raft. He could of put wet mud in the cracks or holes on the first raft he built. He could of made four bags, and put rocks or pebbles in the bags. He could of put two bags on each side of the raft to make the raft evenly. Not like one side heavier than the other side of the raft. Or like one side lihgter than the other side of the raft Abel built to get home.
ReplyDeleteI dissagree with what Austin said but what I'm saying is that the boat is much better with stronger wood if he can find it which is why I dissagree
ReplyDeleteI think that making a rope was smart and cool but he also tried the classic boat making idea I meen come on thats to classic. As I was saying making a rope was pretty good I would have done that but I think the reason it didn`t work was he is to weak to through it across the stream. digging under the stream so so wouid`nt have worked because it would collapse under the wait of the stream.
ReplyDeleteI think that they were all good, but none were good enough to get him acoss. They were all good ideas.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best was...... i don't know actualy i thought they were all cool.but they didn't work so they all are in the middle.
